What’s this?

The idea behind this blog, as it stands now, is that it’ll be a hyper-linked design notebook, brainstorming nexus, and venue to show off things I’ve made all at once. (Everyone likes to show off and sharing ideas helps produce more ideas. If I can manage to teach or inspire a little while doing both, all the better.) I’ll be posting, as faithfully as I can, step-by-step reports of the many projects I embark on as well as tutorials, tips, and advice on… Everything, really.

Due to my unorthodoxly wide range of interests, the subjects I cover will likely run a whole gamut of disciplines from stitching quilts to forging swords to brewing the perfect cup of tea. (I love tea.) The unifying theme here will simply be the act of making, learning, and improving your skills as you go.

It’s not all about me and my work though. If you’ve got ideas, tips, or advice of your own to share, please do so! That’s what being a brainstorming nexus is all about. An active exchange of ideas can only help this blog and everyone reading it to become better at, well, whatever we set out to do.

So, if you’d like to contribute or pour over a few tutorials and learn something new or watch me flail about while learning something new myself, this should be a good blog for you to keep an eye on.

Why thank ye! Hopefully I can get a forge running soon so I can start doing metalwork beyond basic jewelry.
